  One of mankind's problems is that that we are quick to leap on bandwagons that suit our preconceived ideas, without doing in-depth research.

  I have been very guilty of this in the past. I am, now, much more sceptical.

  By the same token I am very stupid.

  I discovered the shonky doctrines research behind AIDS, cancer, SARS, GW, etc. well before I took a good look at the Troof.

  ...and, yes, I do feel like a right twat for for getting that wrong. I made the mistake of believing my parents, in spite of all the evidence to the contrary I got at school etc.

  My thinking now is.....

  Don't believe anyone on the basis that they appear to have credentials. These credentials may be largely illusory.

  I urge you to be careful with Mad Cow Disease theories.

  Like armageddon, anti-trinity, SARS, AIDS, Global Warming, etc there are Apostates of these theories, and they have evidence that must be swept under the carpet in order to keep these theories alive.

  Do your homework or you will be sucked in again, as you were with the Borg.

  Throwing out Old Watchtowers

  did u feel guilty about throwing out old copies of the watchtower even if you had the yearly bound volumes?

  For Migraine Sufferer's

  ok, for those who suffer migraine attacks, when do you get them, and what do you do for them?

  prior to an injury in the school yard, (a teenager at the time) i never had a headache.

  my injury had all the symptoms of a migraine.

  I have had migraines on and of since age 11.

  Did a ten day fast as a 25yo and didn't get another migraine for 5 or 6 years afterwards.

  They dissapeared again while I was on an all raw vegan diet, (I wouldn't recommend that for any more than a few weeks), and didn't return for years.

  I am now on a diet of mostly unprocessed/unrefined foods and get very few migraines, usually after doing something stupid like drinking too much alcohol or coffee or eating chocolate.

  If I get a migraine in the morning I head straight for the coffee pot and ciggies.

  For those late in the day, I go to bed and sleep it off.

  Oh my, oh dear, oh my gosh, Little Witch, I am shocked.

  150 lb of venison in the freezer already.

  How could you do such a thing?

  That is a terrible thing to do.

  It should be hung for four days to a week before you freeze it.

  It'll be as tough as an old boot.

  You'd better send Hubby out to get another one and save that one for the cat.

  i heard about it on the radio yesterday, but didn't believe it to be true.

  i'm all for treating animals humanely but if this is what happens to your judgement when you cut all meat out of your diet, then i'mgoing out for a burger.

  Veganism and, to some extent, vegetarianism also attract a cult-like following, not dissimilar to the WBS.

  Their Bible is scientific studies and they are often only quoting the part of the research data that fits their faith while conveniently forgetting to include results that are contrary to their health doctrine.

  They are also fond of quoting poor quality research that backs their claims.

  Like the WBS, if you don't support their claims they will quote you out of context and if you do support them they will quote you regardless of your background and qualifications, so if you ever consider joining one of these cults, you should fully investigate all quotations of studies they produce to support their doctrine.

  If there are foods to be avoided, they will be modern refined and processed foods that form a large part of many vegan/vegetarian diets, not the age old, non processed meat and veg that the human race was evolved/designed to thrive on.

  Thinking of becoming a JW - Need urgent honest advice!!!

  i have met a wonderful man but unfortunately he is a jw.

  i have never been interested or really ever been around any religion in my life so all of this right now is very fascinating to me.

  i have been thinking of studying to become one but am also having a hard time finding anything on the net that is positive about it.

  There are many articles on the web that challenge JW faith.

  If he can read those challenges and see where he has been led astray by the WTB&TS then you may have a very good man.

  If he is totally blinded by them, leave him alone.

  Just the fact that he is considering a life with a 'worldly wife' is a good sign, but he must see the reality of the lies behind the Troof if he is ever going to be completely free of them and be fully able to devote himself to being a good husband to you.
